I've created a very simple MarkItUp! editor addon that might be useful for others:

It's not in addon form yet - I wasn't sure if the javascript should live in the "addons" directory or inside /edit.

Full instructions inside the solution download anyway

Cool, worked like a charm. I'd really like to see this in the addons section.

One suggestion: Implement N2.Details.IDisplayable on the MarkItUpEditor attribute. It would help getting rid of the extra property.

I have no strong opinion on the choice of folder.

I'm adding another attribute to it for WMD editor support (http://wmd-editor.com/) as I've found out the MarkItUp editor has big problems parsing anything more than a few lines of code for the ` syntax. I've taken this from the Stackoverflow branch though as it's more stable and not obfuscated. I'll post it to the addons section once it's done and add the IDisplayable support too

I've changed the files so they work inside the addons and now it has WMD support too (used on StackOverflow.com). I prefer the WMD editor so I'd recommend that.

The source + install information is at

http://n2markdowneditors.google.com

I'll put it in the addons too

Cool. The link you provided appears to be wrong while this looks more like it: http://code.google.com/p/n2markdowneditors/
