Specific user rights for specific page instance

Sep 24, 2008 at 9:54 AM
I have following situation .....
I have registered users (companies) on my site which sell some goods.
Every user (company) should have his own container page type in edit mode under which they can put and modify products page types instances.
My question: is there a way to specifying user rights to the container page (object) instance and product which belong to the container and that specific user should be denied to edit others users container or any other part of the site .... he should be allowed only to see and edit products which belong to his container in hierarchy?

The framework isn't specifically addressing this scenario but you can solve this in an alternative way:
- Subscribe to ItemSaving and check who's saving and their permissions
- Add a custom editable that do the same check and e.g. disables changes

Will overrideing ContentItem.IsAuthrorized(IUser) be enough for ContentItem.GetChildren() to return a user-specific subset of children ?
